The JW Power Collection showcases a diverse array of works by both Australian and international artists, featuring kinetic art from the 1960s and 1970s, Op Art, Pop Art, Minimalism, performance pieces, and art from the 1980s. It also includes 1,103 paintings, oil sketches, and drawings by John Power himself. 

An essential component of this collection is the Ramingining Collection of Aboriginal Art, further enriching its significance. Overall, the JW Power Collection encompasses 3,060 works acquired between 1967 and 1989 by curators of the Power Gallery at the University of Sydney, established through the generous bequest of John Power. His visionary contribution has made contemporary art accessible to Australians.
