Joan Mitchell: Worlds of Colour is the first exhibition in Australia dedicated to the influential North American artist, showcasing the series of prints she created at Tyler Graphics in 1981 and 1992.

Born in Chicago, Mitchell rose to prominence in the early 1950s as a key figure in the New York School of Abstract Expressionism. After 1955, she divided her time between the United States and France, ultimately settling in Vetheuil, near Paris, in 1968. This publication delves into Mitchell’s commitment to abstraction, highlighting how she translated her painting techniques into her printmaking practice.
